“BROCKTON – Two Brockton men got behind the camera with local sports stars and some of the biggest names in sports commentary to provide a reality check about the struggles facing inner city athletes.  “It’s raw, it’s honest, and it’s what the kids need to hear,” said Noube Rateau, 26, a Brockton filmmaker who teaches TV production to high schoolers in Lynn. “It’s a reality check that sports is Plan B, not your Plan A.”

Rateau and William Medero, 27, co-directed Out of Bounds: Sports in the Inner City, a documentary featuring ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Basketball Hall of Fame reporter Jackie MacMullan, and standout local athletes including Brockton High School football player Kharee Louis Jeune.”

AiLi Live says,

In the Age of the Black Panther movie by Marvel, with a mostly all Black cast and crew – Wakanda Fever, police shootings of civilians, and a menace in Washington – it is time to draw upon Our-Story for inspiration.  The story of Ariminta Harriet Tubman aka Moses aka The General aka Harriet Ross is one of Freedom.  Let us pay homage and tribute together.

What is Freedom anyway?

Vincent Harding on Transformation

, , , , ,

The late Civil Rights Activist, African American Historian and Scholar Vincent Harding on Transformation, and Buddhist philosopher, educator, author, and anti-nuclear activist, Daisaku Ikeda of the Soka Gakkai, International, had a prolonged conversation about transformation and the role in plays in “Hope, Freedom and Democracy.”

America Will Be!, a dialogue between Vincent Harding and Daisaku Ikeda, illuminates the historic events of the American civil rights movement and underscores the vital role of people, especially today’s youth, in creating a brighter future. Published in August 2013, the timely release of America Will Be! coincided with the 50th anniversary of the historic March on Washington where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (1929–1968) gave his noteworthy “I Have a Dream” speech. Both authors discuss the historical significance of this speech and emphasize its continued relevance for people today. Ikeda states: “Great dreams nurture extraordinary people, inspire great struggles, and build great lives, leading ultimately to a new, brighter future.” Harding believes people need courage to dream and “to put [themselves] into that which does not yet exist–to step out and let that dream possess [them], and then to act on it.”

Why Blog?

Greetings Earthlings! 😆

For years I have created thousands of hours of video and audio, most of it for broadcast television and radio, some for private clients and very little for me, the Artist.  I have worked as a producer, a host, a master of ceremonies or MC, a teacher, a lecturer and a few more things.

My artistic path led me to creating performance series in Boston , especially the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston.  Roxbury is the heart of Boston and Roxbury is in my heart.  I am blogging so that I can share with you all, some of my adventures, the people I meet, their stories and all of within the themes of Food, Art, Culture and Spirituality.

Boston is an international city with thousands of students arriving every year to share their lives while getting a great education at some of the finest institutions of higher learning.

In my posts, I hope to share stories, events, ideas, themes and so much more around the themes of Food, Art, Culture & Spirituality.  I have a monthly live performance series called, “Art Is Life Itself!” or AiLi Live.  AiLi Live started as a weekly Thursday night series for a decade.  In 2016, a decision was made to make it once a month, on 3rdThursdays of the month.  That was a relief! 😄

About 4 or 5 years ago, I started a community radio show called AiLi Radio, it airs on Sunday nights from 7-8pm on WRBB 104.9FM and streams live on the interwebs at, you can also download FREE APPS TuneIn or Simple Radio to your phone or tablet and take us with you!

I have a treasure trove of thousands of photos that I also expect to share AiLi Photo or Nina Photo and of course there is always more.

I welcome you to comment, follow and share anything we do and looking forward to meeting some of you virtually, at events or over the phone. We’ve got some great weather in Roxbury today.  I think I’ll go out and enjoy it.  You should too 😉
